About Me
I am James Knaap currently living in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. I’ve worked as a Director of Photography on several (short)films, commercials, music videos and other studio and field productions. I started my carreer in the film industry in 2006, after studying cinematography in Brussels, Belgium.
Experience
I have 7 years of hands on experience in lighting sets, operating many different camera systems and color graded most of my own work. For me direction of photography is the translation between a vision and reality. Making sure this translation empowers the story in full effect is my dedication.
